Kuldeep Yadav found his way into the history books during India’s 107-run win over West Indies.
He is the first Indian bowler with two ODI hat-tricks.
Rohit Sharma (159) and KL Rahul (102) put on 227 runs for the first wicket to help India amass 387/5 after being put into bat.
The visitors managed 280 in reply.
Despite being expensive early on, Kuldeep fought back hard. He removed Shai Hope, Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph in three consecutive balls to turn things around. As a result he finds himself in some esteemed company with the likes of Lasith Malinga, Wasim Akram, Chaminda Vaas, Saqlain Mushtaq and Trent Boult. All of these men have taken more than one hat-trick in ODIs.
Malinga has three while the rest have two. Kuldeep is also the fourth Indian after Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar to take a hat-trick in international cricket in 2019. Bumrah achieved the feat against West Indies, while Shami and Chahar got their hat-tricks vs Afghanistan and Bangladesh respectively.
His first one was vs Australia in 2017.
