'Bold Move', Fans Laud Rakul Preet Singh's Chhatriwali But Call It Similar to Janhit Mein Jaari

In the majority of India, the concept of sex education is still extremely uncommon and controversial. Parents are hesitant to have “the talk” with their children because they worry that they will be exposed to too much too young. In films like “Vicky Donor,” the role of a sperm donor was exalted.

Currently, Rakul Preet Singh appears in ‘Chhatriwali,’ which makes an effort to normalise people receiving sex education at the appropriate age.

The movie, which is set in Karnal, is about Sanya Dhingra, a female chemistry expert without a job who simultaneously fights an important social taboo by teaching the next generation about sexual education.

Although the storyline about promoting sexual education isn’t particularly unique, Tejas Vijay Deoskar’s conviction and narrator style delighted the audience. On Twitter, a lot of users of social media expressed their opinions about the movie and described it as entertaining. Some even said that it was bold of Rakul to agree to do a film concerning such a topic.

Rakul, who had previously appeared in movies like ‘De De Pyaar De,’ ‘Sardar Ka Grandson,’ and ‘Doctor G,’ found the movie to be her ideal endeavour.

For the unversed, ‘Chhatriwali’ turned out to be RakulPreet’s dream .

“In today’s patriarchal society, every household needs a Sanya who holds the courage to single-handedly fight against all odds, traditions, social norms, and barriers,” the 32-year-old actor said in a statement.

‘Chhatriwali’ aims to drive home the message about the importance of male contraceptives and safe sex, she added.

“I hope this character inspires others to find their voice and speak up against unsafe sex and the many health implications of not using protection.

“India’s youth make up for majority of the population and educating them on safe sex and sex education is the need of the hour, so I am glad that Chhatriwali is catering to them and everyone else in a progressive and entertaining manner,” Rakul said.
