An IPL betting racket got exposed when police busted it in Candolim, Goa on October 3. This is the second one busted in the Calangute-Candolim tourism hub in three days.
Calangute police got a tip it was being conducted at a resort apartment near the Candolim primary health centre. They then raided it. As per TOI, they took 3 people into custody for betting on the game between RR and RCB.

The 3 men are Bhanu P, Raju Rao and Shahi Kiran. All of them hail from Hyderabad. They are charged under Sections 3 and 4 of the Goa Public Gambling Act. Other than that cash worth Rs 8400, three mobiles and a laptop were seized. The accused got bail.
On September 30, 5 people were nabbed in a similar racket in a Candolim villa. Four belonged to Rajasthan and one was from Nepal.

Police recovered Rs 95,000 cash plus nine mobiles along with a couple of laptops. These men also got released on bail.
