Former World No. 1 Saina Nehwal Clinches Malaysia Masters Title To Start 2017 With A Bang!

The year 2017 got off to the best possible start for Saina Nehwal as she beat Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong to win the Malaysia Masters title.

Saina was trailing in the first game but rallied to take a 1-0 lead. In the second one she was leading 20-16 and despite a good fightback by her opponent won the game and the championship.

For her fans it’s great news, and her critics and the badminton fraternity will surely sit up and take notice. We are certainly seeing the resurrection of the woman who won India their first badminton medal at the Olympic Games.

This was her 23rd title overall and the first after last year’s Australian Open.
