Who is to be blamed for tennis row?

Who is to be blamed? Leander Paes or Mahesh Bhupathi? Bhupathi refused to play with Leander and threatened to pull out of the Olympic team. Leander for his part did the same thing. Rohan Bopanna too refused to partner Leander. But who is at fault? The All India Tennis Federation or the players? Why can’t the federation force the players to abide by the decision? Leander and Mahesh are legends of Indian tennis but it seems like their egos are bigger than their achievements. The ongoing fiasco is proving to be a very bad taste in Indian sporting history.

Who is to be blamed for tennis row?

It is an extremely selfish act threatening to pull out of Olympics for any reason. It seems the federation has no control over the players. Things got complicated when sports minister Ajay Maken refused to intervene. Now, S.M Krishna, the External Affairs minister who also happens to be a lifetime president of AITA, appealed to the players to put aside their egos for the sake of their country. Under the circumstances, can we expect India shine and win medals in London? Leander and Mahesh are legends of Indian tennis but it seems like their egos are bigger than their achievements.
