With the alleged “undo” feature, users would be able to immediately pull down content posted on the WhatsApp Status segment, which works similarly to Stories on Instagram. If you think posting the wrong image on your WhatsApp Status is an emergency, the company is building the “Undo” tool for you.

How “Undo” for WhatsApp Status will work
Reported first by WABetaInfo, it appears that the Undo button for WhatsApp Status is still being developed and experimented with. In screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, it seems that the Undo button would be placed right on the opposite of where “Status Sent” ping appears once a user uploads a story.

WhatsApp Status updates can be a bit flimsy at times, especially if you’re writing long text to accompany an image. One wrong stroke and the story is immediately published and the user has to rewrite it from scratch.

While an Undo feature is helpful for WhatsApp Status fanatics, a more hand-friendly interface like Instagram would be a better design choice than an “Undo” button.
An extension of WhatsApp’s delete feature
WhatsApp already offers delete functionality for status updates. But that function is mostly available after your update remains live for a couple of minutes. For WhatsApp users with a bigger social pool and for famous personalities, the Undo tool may come in more handy than one would expect.

Currently, the Undo feature for WhatsApp is being rolled out as part of app’s 2.21.22.6 beta updates for Android. For a few beta users, the undo feature is available for Android version 2.21.22.5.
