The video shows the army personnel forming a human chain to rescue the stranded people. The heavy rainfall has caused massive damage to the state and disaster management teams are trying their best to keep everyone safe and away from harm’s way as well provide people with shelter and food during this difficult time.

The video has reminded us that our jawans need to be appreciated for their bravery and selflessness. The video was captioned: ‘If you ever wondered why people love Army or they are just doing their jobs, please stop and watch this video from #NainitalLake crisis recently……the way the soldiers make a human chain and evacuate, will make your eyes moist but heart swell with pride. Jai Hind Ki Sena!!’

Up until now, 46 people have reportedly lost their lives while many others have been injured. The National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force is also conducting relief operations all over the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in the state.

“May the injured recover soon. Rescue operations are underway to help those affected. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being,” he tweeted.

According to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), over 300 people have been rescued from flood-affected areas of Uttarakhand.
