Hippo Runs After Lions At Terrifying Speed In Viral Video
Twitter
In the viral video, three lions were seen lunging into the water. They huddled together as they tried to get back on land. Soon after getting into the water, the three lions were caught glancing towards their right and scramming.
A few seconds later, it was revealed in the clip that the lions got scared after they noticed that a humungous hippo was on its way toward them. As the hippo angrily swam over to the lions, they scrambled back on land to keep themselves safe.
But things did not go as planned for the lions as the hippo lunged forward to attack one of the lions while the other two escaped narrowly. One lion got caught and got stuck for a few moments as the hippo bit the king of the jungle with its strong, big teeth. Though the lion eventually escaped from the hippo’s grip and got back onto land.
The Twitter account Wow Terrifying posted the video and wrote, “Terrifying speed! You can see why Hippo’s are so dangerous!”

People Online Were Shocked And Impressed By The Hippo’s Fearless Attitude
Twitter
People online were shocked after watching the clip. One user wrote, “Never seen a lion so f*kcing scared! To think that the hippo didn’t even seem to want it dead!”
While one noted, “Thing is “The king of the jungle” is the concept derived by humans for animals & not by animals themselves. In the wild everybody lives by the edge of sword. Every predator is being hunted by the bigger one.”
One user was proud: “King of Jungle has no jurisdiction in the water.”
Another shared how the clip cracked him up, “I cackled at the lions looking back and swimming faster.”
Some people noticed that the video was sped up, as one person noticed, “1.5x or 2x speed?”
One fellow proposed, “I really wanna see what it looks underwater when the hippo swims. Because that’s really fast swimming, and if y’all look at the end of the clip, it’s legs are tiny af compared to it’s body.”
Another found the whole ordeal hilarious: “that hippo was moving like it knew the lion. it was like, ‘didn’t i tell you it was on sight?!’”
A third wanted the hippo to be declared the “new king.” “Hippos are good swimmers & herbivore mammals should be declared the new king,” wrote the user.
