Twitter User Goes Viral After Asking People To Prove Their Middle-Class Status, Humour Ensues!

Being middle-class in India is not just a matter of status between desis. Culture and a way of life arise from being middle-class in India. All residents of the country are well aware of this distinction in the way people live their lives as middle-class citizens of India.

A Woman Asks People To Prove They Are Middle Class, The Replies Are Hilarious

A woman on Twitter created havoc as she asked people to prove they were middle-class without actually saying so. User Tanisha wrote on Twitter, “Tell me you’re middle class without telling  you’re middle class.” 

Her tweet launched a long thread as people flocked to the tweet to share the hilarious quirks they inherited while living as middle-class people in the country. From using old clothes as cleaning rags to filling ice cream boxes with electrical supplies, people came up with all sorts of replies to the viral tweet.

One user pointed out how her mother uses old undergarments as cleaning rags to save money on buying new rags while at the same time making the most out of the undergarments that are too far gone to use: “My mummy uses underware to clean messy kitchen.”  

Another user shared how her family does not throw away the takeaway plastic containers that come from restaurants, instead, they use them for sending food to friends and family. “Restaurant packing dabbas are washed, saved and  used to send samaan to pados wali aunties.”

People Mentioned Various Scenarios Only Middle-Class Folks Are Familiar With

While one mentioned how they end up using a full tube of toothpaste for way longer than any other individual would, “1 month se khtm hua Colgate abhi bhi chl rha. Kya mtlb ye middle class nhi pro gareeb mein aata hai.”

Another user chimed in and wrote, “The toothpaste is never over,” along with a cartoon depicting the scene that normally plays out in a middle-class house of a father squeezing the toothpaste tube as much as he can.

One fellow shared how an ice cream tub is used as a container for garlic or ginger paste, which is a condiment often used in Indian cuisine, “magnum k dabbay mein ginger garlic paste.”  

One user went the extra mile and shared a video of how their family used an ice cream tub container as a place to store the electrical components of their house, “It’s clear ig Ps: it’s a box of salvaged electronic components.”

While another mentioned how their middle-class status is apparent from their busted earphones that only have one side of the lead working, “Earphone ka ek hi side kaam karta h.”

Seeing as how all the replies were experiential examples, users found the whole thread extremely relatable. One user remarked, “Bhai Bhai these replies are so relatable.”
