A businesswoman from Hyderabad allegedly got a TV anchor kidnapped, to marry him.
What makes the incident even more bizarre is that the woman ‘fell in love’ with Pranav Sistla, who works as an anchor of a music channel, after she stumbled on a fake profile on a matrimonial website with his photos.

Photo misused on matrimonial website
The woman, identified as Bhogireddy Trisha, the Managing Director of five startup companies first came across Sistla’s photo some two years ago.
Impressed by his profile, the 31-year-old woman started chatting with the person who she knew as Chaitanya Reddy.
But after some time she realised that the person whom she was chatting with was not the same whose photos were on the matrimonial website.
How she tracks down the TV anchor
Later Trisha searched the photo on the matrimonial website online and came across the social media profile of Sistla.

She contacted Sistla, who confirmed that someone else had created a fake profile using his photos.
He also said that he had filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime police station about the same.
Sill wanted to marry him
But the story took an unexpected turn from there as Trisha, despite knowing that the TV anchor was not the person she was chatting to refused to let it go.
What followed was obsessive stalking by Trisha who was adamant about getting married to Sistla, even after he made it clear that he was interested in any relationship with her.
Trisha continued to message
Sistla
until he blocked her number.
Stalking and kidnapping
Undeterred, Trisha allegedly got an airTag attached to Sistla’s car to track his movement and also hired four men to kidnap the anchor.
On February 11, the four men kidnapped the victim and took him to the office of the woman and beat him up badly.

Fearing for his life, the TV anchor agreed to respond to the woman’s calls and only then was he let off.
Based on his complaint, a case was registered under 363 (kidnapping), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The four kidnappers and the woman have been arrested.
