The man who worked on some pathbreaking movies in Bollywood – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, Devdas, Swades, Jodhaa Akbar, Salaam Bombay, 1942 A Love Story, Khamoshi, Kama Sutra, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Nitin Desai is no more. The renowned art director has reportedly died by suicide at the age of 58.

Days before his death, he celebrated his 58th birthday on Aug 6.
Last month, he shared designed Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. “May the king of Lalbaug be victorious. Shri Ganesha of Lalbaugcha Raja’s 12th year of pandal worship and decoration was completed today”.
On Sunday, he visited the Pandal to monitor work and looked absolutely normal. A bhakt of Lalbaugcha Raja, he was associated with the team since 2009.
“The arrival of our king Lalbaug is near, with his blessings, today auspicious time and worship was done”, he wrote in another post.
Reason of Nitin Desai’s death
The art director was found hanging at ND Studio in Karjat making it a suspected case of suicice. However, the cause of his death remains unknown as the investigation is underway.
