Amma Ji was another member of the cast who stole the spotlight this season. Who, though, is she? Abha Sharma, a seasoned actor, is the woman who played Amma Ji in Panchayat. Abha Sharma, who has appeared in TV series such as Das Dev, Ishaqzaade, and Shooter began her career at the age of 54. IndianExpress reports that Abha Sharma stayed behind to care for her sick mother following the death of her father and never got married. After earning a diploma from the JJ School of Arts, Abha began working as a teacher in 1979.

Abha Sharma’s Rare Condition
Abha lost all of her teeth at the age of 35 as a result of a gum infection. She continued to work at her job despite this, though. Once more, the actress had limb tremors at the age of 45 due to a rare condition.

Talking about her first role, she told IndianExpress, “I so easily landed my first role that I was yet to process it. I was anticipating ‘Mai Mumbai toh jaa rahi hu par director bolega isse kaam nahi hopayega (I am going to Mumbai but the director may not approve of my work).’ I was quite nervous and scared. The ad I was offered was quite big. The set terrified me. The guy who was seated next to me, also part of the ad, he told me, ‘I am too new, please co-operate with me.’ I said, ‘I am newer, you too co-operate with me.’ But, after I gave my shot, the director told me, ‘Ma ji, ap bahaut acha kar rahi hai’. I was over the moon. All my fears went away. I was motivated.”
