Rajinikanth is all set to arrive on the big screen with his upcoming actioner Jailer. The film marks the superstar’s first film in two years and will release on the 10th of August. It is now reported that several offices in the southern part of India have announced a holiday on the release day of Jailer.

This decision was taken to avoid piled-up leave requests to the HR department.
The notice further reasons, “We also take the privilege of going the extra mile to support antipiracy by providing free tickets to employees…”. A Twitter user shared the news with the caption, “Offices started announcing holiday for #Jailer release. The #SuperstarRajinikanth phenomenon and the only actor in the world who can bring the country to a standstill.”
Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, this film features Rajinikanth as a retired police officer in his first collaboration with Nelson Dilipkumar. In the trailer that was released earlier this month, actor Jackie Shroff was seen threatening Rajinikanth over a phone call.
Jailer also stars Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan.
During the audio launch of Jailer, Rajinikanth revealed how he landed up singing Jialer. He shared, After Annaatthe, I listened to many scripts but I didn’t like any. And stopped the process altogether and thought let’s see about it later. Then I was told by Kannan of Sun Pictures, who is a friend of Nelson, that he (Nelson) has a story for me.”

“I asked the makers to announce the film as many filmmakers kept calling me to talk about their script. I didn’t want them to wait. If the film is announced, they will all move on with other work. But I was told the announcement should not be simple. Then we arranged for a shoot with Anirudh, Nelson and I. That’s the promo you all saw.”
Rajinikanth’s Jailer is clashing with Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar at the box office.
The film has a common cast of Tamannaah Bhatia who is riding high on success currently. Coming back to Rajinikanth, then at the trailer launch he also opened up on his alcoholism. He was heard saying, “If there was no alcohol in my life, I would have served the society. Alcoholism is the biggest mistake in life.”
