“We were dating within the first week of meeting each other…so you can say that, yes, we hit it off the moment we met!” – Shahid once said.
It was in 2004 that actor Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan started dating each other during the filming of Fida. It was the same year that the duo were caught off-guard kissing in a viral video that got leaked. Even in those days of negligible social media, the matter escalated to be a buzzing controversy.

For the unversed, Kareena and Shahid featured together in 36 China Town, Chupke, Milenge, Jab We Met and Udta Punjab.
For all these years, Shahid denied that it was not him in the leaked video, he has now addressed that controversy in a rather different way. He told Mid-day, “I was destroyed at that time. I was just a 24-year-old kid and I felt my privacy had been invaded and I could do nothing to protect it.”

“I was a mess, I was like, yeh kya ho gaya and what is going on and of course it affects you a lot. At that age especially, because you don’t even know exactly your own feelings and then you are figuring out, how to be with a girl and you are dating you know all that is going on and you are actors in different places and all that is happening and in the middle, this happens…”

Shahid further expressed, “I think now you are aware that it is 100% going to happen. At that time, we were caught off guard by it… So, it is like an informed devil as opposed to an uninformed devil scenario. You at least know, yeh toh hone wala hai. Also ab toh meri shaadi ho gayi hai, bachche ho gaye hain. Nobody is interested in those things about me. They have other 24-year-olds to focus on.”
Shahid then married Mira Rajput in July 2015 and now also has a son and daughter named Zain and Misha.

Kareena on the other hand tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan and has two sons Taimur and Jehangir. In an old interview with Bombay Times, Shahid once talked about being friends with exes. The Kabir Singh actor said back then, “It’s difficult. It depends on a variety of factors, including how you parted and the current situation.”

“It depends on whether the people you’re with now are okay with you being friends with someone you used to be friends with. It’s challenging, but not impossible. Congratulations to anyone who is capable of doing so. But it’s difficult, and saying yes would be easier than doing it”, he concluded.
