And now that Zoya Akhtar is turning The Archies into a film, everyone is eagerly anticipating it. But as we see creators providing us with more updates these days, the time has become closer. As of right now, we can view the show’s first look!
In the incredible video, we see guys singing in delight and the girls, who appear to be in their 90s, shaking a leg.
Since it is Zoya’s production and made for India, the show seems to have a desi touch too.

Everywhere they travel, The Archies gang makes news, from Riverdale to Sao Paulo. The major Netflix Tudum event is taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with Team Archies. On Saturday afternoon, the official Instagram account for the movie posted images of the cast in advance of the occasion.
The caption on the post read, “We went from saying Hi to Haaye after seeing these adorable pictures of our favourite gang. Catch their first performance ever at 2:00 AM IST, only at the Tudum global fan fest, streaming live from Brazil on June 18 on Netflix India’s YouTube channel. #TheArchiesOnNetflix.”As per HT, Zoya Akhtar had previously said, “It’s been an absolute honour to be asked to make an Indian adaptation and the first-ever film for this very iconic Archies franchise. This is a surreal experience since Archie Comics was a part of my childhood. It is super exciting to take these beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation but still keep the nostalgia of the original comic alive.”
The first look at the Indian version of the Archie’s Comics characters and stories was previously unveiled by the creators. While many people praised the new perspective, several people on the internet complained that it was too ‘western’ or unrelatable for the Indian audience.

The Archies promises to recreate the youthful enthusiasm, hope, and excitement of the 1960s and is hailed as offering a new perspective on the iconic group of The Archies. Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda, and Vedang Raina are among its cast members. Tiger Baby, Graphic India, and Archie Comics support it.
The project will soon release on Netflix!
