Virat Kohli always has a sense of occasion and on February 15, 2015, he proved it once again.
It was India’s first match of the 2015 World Cup and the defending champions were up against arch-rivals Pakistan.

In a packed Adelaide stadium, Kohli came out to bat when Rohit Sharma fell early, What followed was a masterclass display of batting.
Kohli was in great touch and he placed the ball to perfection. There was no brutal power and yet the Pakistani fielders hardly had time to sight the ball as it whizzed past them.

By the time he departed during the death overs, the then India vice-captain had already laid the foundation of a big total.
Kohli made 107 in 126 balls and hit 8 fours. It helped India amass 300/7 and eventually win the match by 76 runs. This ensured that the Men in Blue maintained their unbeaten record over the Pakistanis.
He was the first Indian to score a hundred against Pakistan in World Cups. Incidentally, Kohli had also started the 2011 edition with a century when he slammed 100 not out against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
