When Virender Sehwag blasts the opposition with the bat, he literally destroys them. On December 8, 2011, Indore was witness to one such act of carnage and West Indies were at the receiving end of a brutal assault.

Sehwag was on top of them from the word go and seemed to just change gears as the run-scoring got quicker as he spent more time at the crease.
His 50, 100 and 150 came up effortlessly and then he got to 200. A cracking square-cut took him past Sachin Tendulkar for the highest individual score in ODIs.
Sehwag eventually fell for 219 in 149 balls. By then the knife was truly twisted into the heart of the West Indies bowlers. His innings contained 25 fours and 7 sixes.

His knock helped India amass 418/5 and eventually win the match by 153 runs. With this victory, they also clinched the series with one game left to play.
Sehwag has played some explosive knocks for India in over a decade. But that day West Indies got a harsh lesson of what it felt like to be at the other end of his flashing blade.
