Rohit Sharma and Team India are all set for the 1st Test vs West Indies as they look to continue their good record in the Caribbean. Before the 1st Test, Ashwin shared a new youtube video where he was in interaction with fielding coach T Dilip.
In the video, Ashwin made a revelation about Cheteshwar Pujara, who is not in the squad as he was dropped after the WTC final loss. Ashwin recalled how Pujara sets a timer for eating an apple. Ashwin pointed out that Pujara has the unusual habit of setting an alarm to remind himself of anything he needs to do.
“Pujara even sets an alarm for 7:30 pm to have an apple and will have the fruit at that precise time,” he was seen saying in the video.

Dilip also spoke on Pujara and pointed out his diligence.
“In South Africa, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara were having dinner at 7:30 pm. After that Pujji comes to me and says, ‘Sir, shall I take 20 catches now.’ He batted for two hours but would still finish those twenty catches and then go. I have never seen anyone as meticulous as Pujara,” he said.
Pujara first burst on the Test scene in 2010. Since then, he has played 103 Tests, scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.61. The right-hander has scored 19 100s and 35 50s. 3 of them are 200s and 206 is his top score. Now dropped from the side, Pujara will be looking to fight his way back in. At 35, he knows he does not have much time left as a player. So it is a race against time for him.

India are looking to win their fifth straight Test series in West Indies. They last lost in 2002. After the 2 Tests, India will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is.
Ashwin did not play in the WTC final but is expected to be in the playing XI of this series as he looks to get closer to the five-hundred-wicket mark.
Ashwin turns 37 this year so he too is in the twilight of his career.
