T20 World Cup: Oman's Playing XI vs Bangladesh Was Basically A Combined Indo-Pak Side

India and Pakistan are set to face off on October 24 in the World T20. But some days before that, they were united in the field against a common adversary.

Confused? Don’t be, we are talking about Oman facing Bangladesh. Oman lost but there was something unique about the players who took the field.

Take a look at these names – Sialkot, Ludhiana, Kheda (Gujarat), Chichawatni, Sialkot, Bhopal, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Sialkot, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Peshawar.

These places are not randomly picked from each side of the border. They happen to be the birthplaces of the players from Oman who were taking the field. Yes, all of them are either born in India and Pakistan.

In many ways, the Oman side that faced Bangladesh can be called the Indo-Pak combined Playing XI. Now add the fact that players in the opposition camp were all Bangladesh-born, which means that the bulk of the subcontinent was playing in the match.

Who says India and Pakistan cannot work together? They are literally teammates, albeit for a third country, but teammates nonetheless.
