A YouTuber Hit The New Apple Watch Ultra With A Hammer, And The Table Broke First

After a YouTuber tested Apple iPhone 14 Pro’s “Crash Detection” feature by crashing his own car, another YouTuber has now put Apple’s brand new Watch Ultra to the test, and guess what? The table broke before the watch did.

The YouTuber may be seen performing drop tests, then testing the Apple Watch Ultra against a jar of nails, followed by repeated blows with a hammer to see if the sapphire crystal display would break.

Testing the durability of Apple Watch Ultra

The channel, TechRax, first tested Apple Watch Ultra’s durability by dropping it from about four feet. The watch suffered minor dents in the titanium casing after the drop. The next round involved a jar of nails, and the watch escaped unscathed.

Here comes the real test – the YouTuber repeatedly hit the watch with a hammer. Of course, after multiple hits, the watch’s display cracked, but the table gave in much before the watch did.

Even before the display cracked, the watch stopped turning on after repeated blows. It appears that may be due to damage to internal parts of the Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple has positioned its Apple Watch Ultra as a direct competitor to extreme sports wearables made by companies like Garmin. Apple claims this is the most rugged and durable Apple Watch so far, and is especially designed for people who are into adventure, extreme sports, and more.

This is an expensive watch, mind you. On Apple’s website, the Apple Watch Ultra is listed for a price of Rs. 89,900 – even more expensive than some iPhones. It’s unclear what dictates Apple’s absurd pricing for Indian markets. Regardless, the watch is aimed at professional sportspersons who need a rugged device.
