Nokia Phones To Make A Comeback In The Mobile Phone Market

The popular mobile phone brand, Nokia is all set to make a
comeback in the mobile phone market. The company, which was sold to
Microsoft, has announced in a press statement that it is set to release new
mobile phones and tablets very soon. Android has also been brought on board to create these products, giving new hope to the died down company.

In a statement, the brand revealed that they conducted a
survey in which they found that most people were wanting the brand to come back
into business! “In fact, in a recent survey, we found that Nokia smartphones
are amongst the top five considered brands for purchase by smartphone buyers –
and they aren’t even available yet,” the statement read.

The Finnish brand was acquired by Microsoft on April 25,
2014 in a deal adding up to $7.17 billion. Microsoft acquired the entire
mobiles division of the business, after which Nokia began focusing on ‘Nokia
Networks’. It has also been in the news over the past couple of years for
developing a number of new products, including a futuristic virtual reality 360
degrees camera, called OZO.

Not too long ago, in April 2016, Nokia also announced that
it would be acquiring Withings for $191 million. Withings, a consumers electronics
company, is known to be connected to the health field, giving Nokia a new
insight into different fields.

Now, Nokia has allowed a company, HMD to create products
under the same name. The statement elaborated on the same, stating, “So, under
a new agreement, Nokia Technologies has granted HMD, a new company led by some
of the world’s top mobile specialists, an exclusive global license to create a
full range of Nokia-branded smartphones, tablets, and feature phones for the
next decade.”

HMD has allegedly signed an agreement with the brand to make
mobile phones and tablets under the name for the next 10 years. It is believed
that HMD was founded specifically in order to bring back the Nokia brand.
