Ahilyabai Holkar is remembered as one of the greatest female rulers in Indian history and a visionary leader.

1912 – Last Known Person who survived the Titanic sinking passed away

Millvina Dean was the last living survivor of the RMS Titanic disaster. She was born on February 2, 1912, in London, England, and passed away on May 31, 2009, at the age of 97.

Millvina Dean was just a few months old when she boarded the Titanic with her parents and older brother. They were emigrating to the United States, where her father hoped to open a tobacco shop. However, tragedy struck on the night of April 14, 1912, when the Titanic struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic Ocean.

1921 – Tulsa Race Massacre begins

Beginning on the night of May 31, 1921, thousands of white citizens in Tulsa, Oklahoma descended on the city’s predominantly Black Greenwood District, burning homes and businesses to the ground and killing hundreds of people.
