When Life Gives You Delays, Make Memes: Professor's Take On Desi Culture Goes Viral

When it comes to event planning, every culture has its own unique approach. And when Desi culture meets event planning, the results can be both hilarious and heartwarming.

People in South Asia are very famous for not doing things at the right time. They generally delay things. This is why most people call it “Desi Culture”, which means there will be a delay in everything, be it coming to the office, a wedding, or anything else.

However, once such an incident has made the internet go LOL, Professor Pasha M. Khan, an associate professor at the Institute of Islamic Studies at McGill University in Canada, was scheduled to present his research at a ‘Research Iftar‘ hosted by the World Islamic & Middle Eastern Islamic Students Association.

On Monday, April 18, the event was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Dear Professor Khan,

Unfortunately, one of our speakers has cancelled on us for today, so we are pushing the event back to 6:30. I sincerely hope this doesn’t cause any inconvenience on your part!

“Oh, I would have come on desi time anyway,” the professor joked in response to the mail.
