Thanks to the heavy rains that took over coastal Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district, a family’s wedding plans didn’t go as planned. However, the rains didn’t deter the bride’s spirit and she made sure she reached her wedding despite the rising water levels.

The bride and family take a boat ride to reach the groom
In order to reach the groom and the wedding ceremony, the bride and her family took a boat ride. The family got all decked up and wore their best colourful attires for the occasion. After this, they thankfully found the boats.

The video of the wedding group surfaced on social media. The group of women including the bride Prashanti, and her family went to the groom Ashok’s home in the district where several areas saw flooding. Ashok and Prashanti said they chose to get married in July instead of August, hoping to avoid the monsoon, but that did not work out.
Initially, the wedding got delayed due to heavy rains. However, after that, the bride and her family managed to ride a boat to the groom’s home to finish the wedding rituals.
Floods in Andhra Pradesh
After 36 years, Andhra Pradesh is on the brink of the worst flood. The water level in the Godavari river has been rising by the day, threatening to inundate tens of villages mostly in West Godavari and Konaseema districts, news agency PTI reported. Hundreds of villages in the state are trying to deal with the incessant rains and heavy floods.
