NPCs In Real Life? Stunning Show By Staff At Asian Games Goes Viral For All The Right Reasons

Sports is a language every human has learned to speak. From the camaraderie to the rivalry, everything about the sports world is admired by enthusiasts. One of the most striking parts of the athlete’s way of life is the respected display of discipline and order.

Whether it be waking up early every morning or diligently downing that cup of bitter-tasting green juice, athletic discipline is applause-worthy. However, this discipline and vigour to keep things on track are not just limited to the actual players on the field but also to the staff working around the clock to keep things prim and proper for the vital matches.

A video is taking the internet by storm and has gone viral on X as people compliment the staff captured in the clip. The video is from the ongoing Asian Games taking place in Hangzhou, China.

Why Did The Clip Go Viral On Social Media?

Asian Games Hangzhou Synchronised Hurdles Placement Video
Twitter

The clip was posted on the official Twitter handle for the 19th Asian Games. In the video, the staff setting up hurdles on the red track for an upcoming competition left people speechless. It was the almost-creepy synchronisation of the staff setting up hurdles that stunned the internet.

Almost 11 pairs of staff members coordinated their movements as they placed the hurdles on the track. From matching their hands and legs to even harmonising their foot and head movements, the staff hypnotised the audience with their genius coordination.

How Did The Internet React To The Video?

The caption on the post mentioned how the synchronised placement was filmed before the men’s 110-metre hurdles event. The caption read, “How are the hurdles in the 110-metre hurdles event at the Hangzhou Asian Games placed? Check the video out. It’s incredibly cool!”

Folks on the internet harped on the video and complimented the staff for their incredible discipline. People filled the comments with praise. One joked, “My obsessive-compulsive disorder has been cured.”

However, some thought the display was more creepy than genius. One critique wrote, “Actually it’s quite creepy. The simple act of setting up of hurdles. Yet the Chinese feel the need to “train” people to act like automatons for it.”

While another declared, “Those are npc (Non-player character).”

What Happened Next?

While the video made its way to the interiors of the internet, the match itself ended up being a newsworthy bout. In a rare occurrence, during the men’s 110-metre hurdles final at the Asian Games 2023, Japan’s Shunya Takayama and Kuwait’s Yaqoub Alyouha ended up sharing the gold medal after they ended up completing the course in a nail-biting 13.41 seconds.
