Baba Ka Dhaba Scandal: After Being Accused Of Scam, YouTuber Gaurav Wasan Shares Bank Statement

Everyone remembers Baba Ka Dhabha, the elderly couple from Delhi’s Malviya Nagar whose story went viral after a YouTuber uploaded a video talking about their plight during this difficult time.

YouTube blogger Gaurav Wasan, had posted the video to create awareness about street vendors and local businesses suffering during the pandemic. However, several people reportedly accused him of an online scam after which he shared his bank statement.However, people are yet to trust him.

Gaurav took to his official page Swaad on Facebook to reveal his bank statement. ‘Transparency link verified by bank. Anybody who donated can go and verify re-verify. Thank you for supporting,’ he wrote.

In spite of sharing the details, people do not believe and still have doubts about its authenticity. One user commented, ‘I saw his video where he was claiming 20 plus lakh donations, and now he is talking about two lakh donation. Something fishy.’

Another wrote, ‘Column misaligned’, while many people commented that the document has been heavily edited. 

Gaurav had posted a video of the old couple who sell matar paneer in Malviya Nagar in Delhi. They were shattered and broke down on camera while describing their plight during the pandemic and how they were not able to do business at their dhaba. 

The video had gone viral and actors like Raveen Tandon and Nimrat Kaur had come forward to urge people to help the couple.
