Chinese Man Takes Extreme Measures, Parks Vans On Apartment Rooftop To Avoid Fines

Even with a parking spot assigned, positioning your car in the same spot every day can be extremely rare and hard. However, if you don’t have any parking spots assigned to you, then your EODs can become extra arduous.

Well, one man in Taipei, Taiwan, took extreme measures to solve his parking problems. He was repeatedly fined for parking his vans in front of his own house, which led to him eventually losing all grip and finding a solution to his daily problem.

Since the parking tickets kept piling up, he decided to look for a creative solution.

His jugaad was to shift his permanent parking space and station his vans on the roof of his apartment. One is positioned on a higher part of the roof, while the other is on the edge with a little section of the van jutting out.

Neighbours Got Concerned After Seeing The Van Hanging On The Roof

Understandably, the neighbours were concerned about the man’s parking choices, but the man was indifferent to their concerns. He told the China Times, “It’s not going to affect the building; don’t make a fuss.”

He reassured people and told them that the building was made of steel and concrete, so it would easily be able to support the weight of the two vans. City officials also reached out to the man and asked him to take down the vehicles; however, the man refused, saying that he was not technically breaking any rules.

The elephant in the room, however, is: how did he manage to get the vans on the roof? He surely couldn’t have driven them up there since there clearly isn’t enough space to manoeuvre the vehicles.

Well, even though we would like the answer to be much more interesting, it was simply that he called in a crane to get the vans on the roof.
