Home Alone has remained a favourite for literally everyone -especially during the Christmas season. But ever thought what it would feel like living a life just like Kevin McCallister stuck alone in the huge house? Well, you can now because Airbnb will let you book it.
That’s right! Fans of the movie can make their childhood dreams come true by spending the night in the film’s iconic house. Airbnb announced Wednesday it is renting out the iconic home from the 1990 film for one night only.
The official handle of Airbnb announced it on social media accounts and this was the caption along with the pictures – Get ready to celebrate the holidays on the most boring street in the united states of America… because the timeless house where the home alone story began is officially bookable on Airbnb.
According to a report from the Today show, the Chicago-area home of the fictional McCallister family can be booked for just $25 (plus taxes and fees), but that’s not just it. Booking for the house will begin on Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. CT, for a stay on Dec. 12. Notably, the stay is hosted by Home Alone actor Devin Ratray, who plays Buzz McCallister in the franchise.
Buzz is the older brother of Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin), who is left home alone when his family go on vacation to Paris for the holidays. This is what Ratray said as Buzz in a press release about the Airbnb rental, “You may not remember me as particularly accommodating but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.”

But there is a lot more the guests will get in addition to the picturesque Christmas home. They will get to set booby traps, similar to Kevin’s antics in the film, although Airbnb says those staying in the home won’t have to worry about fending off intruders as Culkin did in the film.
Guests will also be treated to “Chicago’s finest pizza and a meet and greet with a real-life tarantula,” according to Airbnb.
Airbnb also added ” in honour of the first-ever stay at the McCallister home” it will make a one-time donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital.
This is literally a dream come true.
