Recently, the official page of Kerala Police posted an adorable interaction between a cop and his feathered friend. In the clip, a small bird is perched comfortably on the cop’s uniform. The little bird uses the lanyard as its own personal hanging platform and lounges there.
Welcoming his new-found bird companion, the cop stands perfectly still, something his long years in the Police force have made him an expert at. The cop also tries to feed the small bird with the long and slender beak a flower.
The bird pecks at the pollen while the cop holds up the flower for it. The endearing moment stunned people on Twitter. The Kerala Police posted the video on the micro-blogging website with the caption, “’ Let’s nest in the heart’. A guest who unexpectedly flew to Whistle Code in uniform.”

The adorable video was a total left turn from the usual image people have of the police force. While the occupation of a police officer calls for a harsh exterior, the video was a new sight for the people on the internet.
People were quick to comment on the video. One user simply exclaimed, “Very nice.”
Another complimented the whole force and wrote, “Great, Kerala Police.”
Among the many who praised the cop for his gentle nature, one user was more curious about the bird than the cop. He wondered about the breed of the bird that felt oddly familiar to the cop and asked, “Humming bird?”
This is not the first time a cop has shown his fun side to the internet. Previously an Ahmedabad police officer won hearts on Twitter after he gave a law-abiding citizen a piece of chocolate as a reward. While the gesture was not necessarily grand, the reward made people see the human behind the uniform.
Ritvi, a 21-year-old, took to Twitter to rave about her experience with the kind police officer. She wrote in a tweet, “Ahmedabad police gave me a chocolate cuz I was following traffic rules.” The young adult also posted a picture of the piece of chocolate she got from the officer.
