Here is a short horror story for you – A bug crawls into your ear while you are asleep.
Unpleasant, huh? Well, this became a living nightmare for a man who shared his terrifying experience on Reddit about an ‘earwax blockage’.
In his post on Reddit, the man explained how he woke up in the middle of the night because something was bothering him in his left ear. He mentioned how there was no pain but a ‘loud crackling noise’ in the ear. Since he had experienced earwax blockage before, he didn’t think much of it.

However, he had never heard the strange noise and even after searching for symptoms on the internet, he found no answers to his problem.
He ended up telling himself that it is probably just an earwax blockage and stuffed a cotton pad with olive oil in his ear to soften the earwax and went to sleep.
He wrote, ‘After putting the cotton pad in my ear, the crackling sound stopped, but it was replaced with some soft ticking sounds. It made it hard to fall asleep, but eventually, I managed to drift off’.

However, the strange noise in his ear stopped by the next morning but there was still some bizarre movement.
In his post, he further explained, ‘Over the course of the next days, I tried to remove the ear wax myself. I put water in my ear, more cotton pads with olive oil and I even tried to get it out with tweezers (I know I shouldn’t have done that, but I was impatient and really wanted to just get the earwax out and be done with it)’.
Eventually, he ended up using tweezers to find out the reason for the blockage. He wrote, ‘To my horror, the blockage in my left ear was not caused by earwax, but it was caused by what looked like a kind of tiny moth. This creature had somehow managed to climb into my ear at 2 a.m., caused me to wake up and couldn’t leave my ear because of the cotton pad I had stuffed inside.’

Apparently, the dead moth was inside his ear for half a week.
People were left horrified after reading the man’s account and some even shared similar experiences. One user wrote, ‘Once when I was younger, a fly flew up my nose and I freaked out and pinched my nose. I killed it. So then I had to blow my nose and out came this dead, smushed, fly. I almost threw up. So gross’.
Another one wrote, ‘I’m never sleeping again’, and we are sure a lot of us feel the same way now.
