Bagheera Spotted: 15 Stunning Photos Of The Rare Black Panther In Karnataka's Kabini Forest

Wild animals are fascinating, and even more so when they are rare and elusive. That is why, when an account named ‘Earth’ posted pictures of a black panther spotted in the Kabini forest of Karnataka, they went viral in no time. The black beauty that reminded a lot of people of ‘Bagheera’ from Rudyard Kipling’s Mowgli stories, was captured by photographer Shaaz Jung. However, there seem to be a bunch of photos that did not make it to Twitter, but are on the photographer’s Instagram account. Needless to say, they’re even more awe-inspiring than the ones we have already seen.

Found in evergreen forests

“Only in India can Bagira actually look like this, just like a jungle book. Just abandoned,” said one commenter on a viral photo taken by Shaaz. Black panthers are found in the evergreen forests, where the thick canopy of trees doesn’t let the sun into the undergrowth.
