Brahma Kamal flower or sacred lotus, is one of the rarest and most revered flowers of the Himalayas, that blooms from mid monsoon July to August, and has started blooming again in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. This is a rare flower – the only flower that is known to bloom after sunset, that too just once a year. But in the upper areas of the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, it has continued to bloom in large numbers around Nandikund even in October. This flower blooms only one night in a year.

Brahma Kamal flower grows exclusively in Uttarakhand, in mid-monsoon season from July to August.
