In a touching occurrence that took place in a remote wooded region, a kid who had gone missing was found sound asleep and safe, using the family dog as an incongruous but cosy cushion.

State police in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula said that a 2-year-old child who had left her house with two family dogs was later discovered sleeping in the woods, using the smaller dog as a furry cushion.
Lt. Mark Giannunzio said on Thursday that the little girl “layed down and used one of the dogs as a pillow, and the other dog laid right next to her and kept her safe.”

How Was She Found?
In addition to using police dogs and drones, the search for the girl in the isolated woodland area also involved local police and Wisconsin residents, as well as those from Michigan and the neighbouring state of Wisconsin.
Around 8 o’clock on Wednesday, the girl wandered off, prompting officers from the Michigan State Police’s Iron Mountain post to be called to a residence in the Faithorn neighbourhood of Menominee County.

According to state police, the youngster was discovered at midnight, about 3 miles (4.8 km) from her home, by a passerby on an ATV. Giannunzio claimed that once the girl was examined by medical personnel, she seemed to be in good health.
A village without an official name, Faithorn lies about 60 miles (97 km) southwest of Marquette, Michigan, and just east of the Wisconsin state line. The tale, which is still making the rounds on social media, is a monument to the strength of optimism, the value of community, and the exceptional company that dogs can provide in difficult circumstances.
