How The Indian Armed Forces Are Working Tirelessly To Save Lives In Uttarakhand

Heavy rains have dismantled Uttarakhand’s peace as tragic reports of loss of life and property have come to light. During this tough time, the Indian armed forces are doing their best to make sure no one stays hungry, and are making every possible effort to save lives while searching for those still missing. Here are the men in uniform making us proud yet again.

The Army, Indian Air Force, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) are conducting the rescue and relief operations in the state. Over 500 people have been rescued by the team in the state. In the picture, members of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) evacuate people to safer places from a flooded area in Udham Singh Nagar in the northern state of Uttarakhand. A video from the chaos has gone viral on social media which shows army personnel rescuing civilians and getting them to safety. On Thursday, the Uttarakhand government confirmed that 52 people have been killed in flash floods and landslides across the state in the past couple of days. Army rescue teams of the Panchshul Brigade braved adverse weather conditions and evacuated 30 stranded pilgrims and tourists from Adi Kailash, near Gunji. Having evacuated them to safety, first aid was provided to the affected. During this tough time, the Indian armed forces are doing their best to make sure no one sleeps hungry and are making every possible effort to save lives. Flood relief columns of Panch shul Brigade deployed at Tanakpur and Nainital in Uttarakhand. 116 individuals have been evacuated to safety so far. Heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand brought life to a standstill not just for the residents of the state, but also the tourists.   Over 283 villagers including 55 children have been evacuated to safety in Tanakpur, Uttarakhand. The Indian Air Force and Indian Army are also conducting relief operations all over the state.
