Visually Impaired Runner Amarjeet Singh Chawla Just Completed His 101st Run At Mumbai Marathon

At the 16th edition of Tata Mumbai Marathon held on January 20, visually impaired runner Amarjeet Singh Chawla completed his 101st half marathon.

For the uninitiated, Chawla was diagnosed with macular degeneration, a non-curable eye disease, at the age of 14 and he slowly started losing his eye sight.

After undergoing multiple treatments, Chawla became totally blind by the age of 40. But none of that deterred him. His passion for sports is still alive.

He is the only visually impaired man to climb the Dolma Pass in Kailash Parikrama in Tibet.

And now in the Mumbai Marathon where over 46,000 people took part, Chawla completed his 101st half marathon.

In a video posted on Instagram, Chawla says his aim is to achieve his 151st marathon with TMM in the coming two or three years.

Truly inspiring!
