Well, while most people gather indoors and bask in the cool wind of air conditioners, not everyone has the luxury to do so. To help people still roaming the streets as they work like rickshaw pullers and street vendors, social worker Khushi Pandey devised a plan.

Pandey started by handing out “gamchas” (cotton scarves) to street workers so that they could at least cover their heads and protect themselves from a heat stroke. She posted a video on Twitter of herself approaching these street dwellers and giving away scores of red gamchas.

She wrote, “As the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a heatwave warning, we have distributed “Gamcha” to rickshaw pullers, Street Vendors who are working hard throughout the day. Our only endeavor is to make things a tad bit comfortable for them.”
