Content creator and Instagram personality Divya Maiya shocked her followers and many others who witnessed her coming down a hill, skiing in a traditional saree. Most people prefer a skiing outfit to be warm and compact so that it can allow movement while the rider comes down.
Though Divya ignored all such logic and decided to wear a saree while speeding down a snowy hill. The verified creator shared a montage of herself skiing in a saree and thanked people for supporting her endeavours in the caption.
She wrote, “As winter comes to a close, I want to thank everyone who has supported me and cheered me on this season. Also, a shout-out to the person who wanted to see me ski in a drape like this, this is for you.”
Divya continued, “Lots of you have told me how seeing a brown woman shredding in a saree is inspiring but it’s also very inspiring and liberating for me as well. As a sports person and a dancer performer, this feels like these two worlds were coming together! This combination of adrenaline and pride is what I thrive on.”
