NEW DELHI: India’s top doubles shutter Jwala Gutta, who had reportedly managed to get passes for her family to witness the London Olympics, has, however, been left disappointed. The 28-year-old, who will be leading India’s challenge in the mixed doubles and women’s doubles competitions, had claimed to have managed some tickets for her family to see the Games’ action, but it seems she is now struggling to procure them in London.”I was promised three passes but when I asked at the counter here, the officials said that they have handed the passes to the respective national Olympic associations. But officials of the Indian Olympic Association told me they don’t have them. I really don’t know what to do,” informed Jwala.”It is really embarrassing because my parents and my sister are here in London but they can’t see the events now. I have my events starting tomorrow and I don’t have time to pursue this thing. It is really disappointing,” she added.Jwala and V Diju will take on Indonesian pair Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in the mixed doubles event on Saturday, while Jwala will again combine with Ashwini Ponnappa to lock horns with Japanese pair of Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa.”Tickets for my family has been gobbled,” Jwala, who skipped the opening ceremony, wrote on her twitter page.”Three tickets allotted to my family is been denied by the association. Very disappointed,” she added.PTI
