A Helping Hand: Tata Group Open Doors Of Taj Hotels For Doctors And Nurses Fighting COVID-19

That someone do something for the Indian doctors working non-stop for 12 hours in order to save COVID-19 patients was much needed. And now it seems this little wish of ours has been listened to.

To make life a little easier for them and to express our gratitude for healthcare professionals, the Tata Group has opened the doors to its luxury hotels for them. Photos of the same are going viral.

Reportedly, five Taj Hotels in Maharashtra have offered to accommodate doctors and nurses treating infected patients.

Two other Taj properties, one in Goa and one in UP have also done the same.

BMC medical professionals are sharing their images inside the Taj Hotel rooms and an image carrying a welcome message by one of the Tata Group hotels, The President, is also going viral on Twitter. It was shared by Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule.

‘We seize the opportunity to thank you all for you hard work and selfless service to mankind’, the message reads.

The group confirmed the initiative in a statement that read, ‘During these trying times, we at IHCL (

Indian Hotels Company Limited ) are keenly aware of our responsibility towards our community. As a reflection of our commitment, beginning today, we are offering rooms for the medical fraternity to stay while they combat the spread of the virus.’

‘These rooms will be available across 7 of our hotels namely Taj Mahal Palace, Taj Lands End, Taj Santacruz, The President, Ginger MIDC Andheri, Ginger Madgaon and Ginger Noida City Center. We deeply value the contribution from the medical community and will continue to work with them as well as the local authorities as we navigate through this crisis,’ it went on to read.

The move will prove to be helpful as reports of more and more medics facing social stigma owing to their profession is creating headlines.
