Watch: Heroic Nurses Protect Babies During Taiwan Earthquake Horror

Viral Video: A heartwarming clip is circulating online, showing a group of nurses in Taiwan courageously protecting newborn babies during a powerful earthquake. 

The footage, captured by a CCTV camera in the hospital’s nursery, depicts the nurses swiftly securing the cots to ensure the infants’ safety as tremors rocked the building.

The video gained traction on social media platform X, where it was shared by Nishant Sharma on April 3. Sharma commented, “Taiwanese nurses protecting babies during an earthquake. This is one of the most beautiful videos I have seen today on the internet. Hats off to these brave ladies.”

The earthquake, measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale, struck Taiwan on Wednesday, marking the strongest seismic activity in the country in 25 years. The epicenter was located off the coast of rural Hualien County, causing widespread damage and chaos.

In Hualien, buildings were left askew, and ground floors were crushed, while in the capital Taipei, structures swayed violently, causing tiles from older buildings to fall. The Taiwanese government reported nine fatalities in Hualien county, where the earthquake’s impact was most severe. The number of injured has surpassed 1,000, with 38 individuals still missing, and nearly a dozen hotel workers have been rescued.

This earthquake has brought back memories of the devastating 1999 quake in Nantou county, which claimed the lives of over 2,500 people and left more than 1,300 others injured.

As Taiwan reels from the aftermath of the earthquake, the resilience and heroism displayed by the nurses in protecting vulnerable newborns offer a glimmer of hope and unity in times of crisis. Their selfless actions serve as a reminder of the strength of the human spirit, inspiring solidarity and compassion amidst adversity.
